What’s the best? What else is there on the market? I need help!

We want to hear from people who have had one of the above for a number of years and how they have stood the test of time. Did you have something different to the above and want to tell everyone how great it is (or not). Was the laminate worktop durable enough if you had a large household? Was the Solid Wood worktops too much of a bind sanding them each year (did you even bother)? Was the Acrylic well worth the extra purchase and installation costs? Did the granite worktops impress everyone and are they the perfect material or do you have a complaint about what you expected from one of them? Bamboo, recycled yogurt pots and cardboard are all feasible options or do you have something else to suggest?
Why not let others value your opinion and help them decide – the users of the different surfaces are the real independent publishers that we need to hear from – unbiased and really valued opinions so please add to this open forum.
