About the publisher

I left school at 16 to work as an electrician with a national supermarket chain as an installation and maintenance apprentice leaving after 6 years.  I then spent 1 year with a construction company before joining the family business of kitchens at 23 years of age.  Kitchen Distribution to East Anglia and North London was started and this was hard work with small margins so something else was needed.  My father retired from kitchens in 2000 after leaving me to develop the kitchen business deciding the showroom and warehouse was stagnant and un-necessary with high running costs and money held up in stock being closed in 2006.

The Selffit kitchens web site was started in 2004 with dedication and perseverance with getting found on search engines and writing web sites for kitchens and worktops.  This has grown to what it is today due to an understanding of the internet, great online reviews and feedback and hard work!

The warehouse and office was vacated in early 2007 to smaller, modern office in the same town for a year.  We have now moved to the family Farm at Newbourne, Suffolk cutting even more overheads passing on savings to our customers buying online.

This worktops help and advice forum was started mid March 2010 as there wasn’t a single worktops help and advice point of information about worktops selection and materials available with fitting restrictions and durability compared to cost.  Please feel free to comment, ask, or better still answer this worktops help and advice blogg to help others decide what worktops to buy.
